Anyway, my mind was made up that I WAS making one of these frames THIS weekend. So I settled for smaller frames (for now!). I found this gorgeous one at ROSS for only $7! The others I found at Hobby Lobby & TJ Max.

DIY Vintage Chalkboard Frames
I have seen these gorgeous vintage chalkboard frames at some of my favorite coffee shops and have been dying to make one. I really want a BIG one! Like poster size. But I, of course, couldn't find one this weekend. Why is it that once you finally attempt to do something, you can't find the stuff to do to it?!
Love Is... Fundraiser
Love is... helping a sister fight for life!
My sweet mom, Patricia, has decided to give away this beautiful quilt in hopes of helping a dear friend of hers named Janet. Janet just found out she has breast cancer about a month ago. My mom, also having had breast cancer, is compassionately trying to help her friend raise the funds to pay her deductible.
Donations:
$5 for one chance
OR
$10 for 3 chances

Mom Won!
On Friday I asked my Facebook friends to help me decide which project to work on over the weekend. The majority won and I decided to work on my mom's quilt!
My mom actually came into town this weekend so I was not able to get as much done as I had thought but I was so glad to get to spend time with her! We went to the Dallas gift market on Saturday and then had dinner at Gloria's. Yum!

Weekend Project
I get excited every Friday just thinking of all the things I want to make over the weekend and then I can never seem to choose a project.
I am trying to decide between these 3 projects.
#1 A quilt for my mom that I have been working on for several months now. And Mother's Day is coming up! It is my first applique quilt and I am really excited to finish it for her! It is such a precious pattern by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms. Love her blog by the way- check it out! I am developing a quick addiction to all of her patterns. Just not enough time in the day!
#2 An adorable Pom Pom Swag. I saw it on this website and I am in love. Isn't it so bright and cheery? We happen to sell the nifty Clover Pom Pom maker here at work so I have easy access to it. Plus it would be a super quick & easy project!

Cold day, warm soul
I know that most of the world is used to this cold weather thing but hey, I'm from Texas!
21 degrees is way too cold for this little lady!
My co worker is from Alaska and is therefore in heaven with this weather. I will admit I do enjoy the cold snowy weather sometimes...like when I am curled up in bed under my favorite quilt with a nice cup of coffee and a good book. My favorite quilt is one that my beautiful mom made for me before I was born. It is pink and blue with a big Sunbonnet Sue on it. It is so worn that it has holes in it… it is perfect! Somehow the softness of the quilt kindles sweet memories of being a little girl and my mom wrapping me up in it and telling me stories before bed.
