BIG SIS LIV!

I Couldn't be more thrilled that my best friend, Jessica, is expecting her second child in just about a month!

And this time it's a BOY!

You may remember we had a super fun onesie shower for her when she was expecting Liv.

Well as much fun as that was I knew I wanted to make something for the BIG SIS and soon to be LIL BRO. :)

Jessica wanted a few family pics taken before little Landry arrives so I got to make their goodies and give them to them at the lake. I decided to make Liv a little jacket to wear at the hospital when Landry is born. (read below for how to make your own!)

The pictures turned out so cute and Liv loved her jacket!

I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to see this sweet girl hugging her brother-to-be. Seeing how precious they are you would never know the hard road they have been down to get here.
Jessica has the most touching story of her struggles with pregnancy and miscarriage that I hope you will read. It will truly bless you. Click here for her story.

I made these little onesies for Landry!

They are SO easy to make. They are just iron on transfers! (click here for how to make these)

They are just too precious!

I also have more fun designs over at my Etsy shop...

Brittany's Onesie Shower!

One of my new Etsy friends, Jennifer, hosted the most adorable shower for her friend Brittany!
She wrote me a little while back about having the Onesie Party at her shower
and it sounds like these ladies had a blast with it!

I have asked her to share a bit about the shower with us and here it is...

After a very long journey, my dear friend Brittany received an answer to prayer that she and her husband would finally be adopting a baby boy! Immediately, I wanted to throw her a baby shower to celebrate the wonderful and joyous news and to shower this mom-to-be with love!

Brittany loves everything "Chevron" so the shower theme was easily chosen.
I decided on a gray chevron pattern as it reflects the design of the nursery.

And since they are adopting a baby boy,
I added a few pops of blue throughout as well.

After a formal lunch, the mom-to-be opened presents, and then all the
guests created homemade onesies for Brittany to take home with her.

Creating the onesies was such a fun alternative to playing shower games,
and all the guests loved it!

I received so many complements from the guests about how much they enjoyed making the onesies.
Thank you Sarah for such a wonderful idea and materials!

Brittany and I are both military spouses, and sadly she and her husband had just recently moved on to another Army assignment. It was very special to have her back with us in Tennessee, surrounded by friends that have supported and traveled on this incredible journey with her.

It was an amazing day, and I know she will forever treasure this day in her heart!

I have decided to start offering Baby Quilts as well!

This will be my first baby quilt with many more to come.
Don't worry, I will be offering a boy quilt soon! ;)
This sweet quilt is custom made with love for that precious baby girl in your life!

You Hexy Little Thing

If you haven't noticed yet, Hexagons are everywhere!

I think I first fell for them when I saw this Sexy Hexy "Love" Quilt from Amy Butler a while back...
It is actually a FREE pattern you can download here!

Hexagons just make the happiest quilts...

and a few vintage quilts (because I LOVE vintage quilts!)

I found this cute Double Hexagon pillow on Pinterest and the girl who
designed it has a fantastic tutorial on how to make it...
She uses 1 1/2" strips so you could save some time by using a Moda HoneyBun
OR make it a bit bigger with a JellyRoll.

Now that Moda has the new Honeycomb precuts I think I just may have to make something!

Here is a quilt designed by ModaLissa using the new Honeycombs.
I love the simplicity.

And here is a free pattern for it.

Here is a little video where Lissa explains how
easy it is to make a quilt with them...

And one more lovely quilt with a free pattern on the Moda Bake Shop...

Have you made any projects with Hexagons?

Quilt Market

So proud to work for Moda United Notions!

A big CONGRATS to Holly Hickman for winning best booth this year with her "my favorite COLOR is Moda" theme.
It was adorable with colored paint sticks & paint buckets all around.

Having worked at my mom's quilt shop before coming to work for Moda, I personally agree that Moda IS my Favorite Color!

Click on the picture to see how Holly brought it all together.

LIV, laugh, love MODA BABY SHOWER

A few weekends ago my friend Heather and I had the pleasure of throwing our best friend, Jessica, a baby shower and it turned out just lovely. One of the sweetest ladies at her church, Cindy, offered for us to host the shower in her beautiful home.
We all had so much fun eating, chatting, making onesies and celebrating baby LIV!

FREE Printables Below!

HORS D'OEUVRES...
We began the party with some hors d'oeuvres & treats...
My lovely sister brought Grape Meatballs, Spinach Dip with Pita Chips and Devonshire Tidbits (yeah, I didn't know what they were either but YUM).
Heather's mom brought the world's most amazing fruit salad.
Katie and Raven brought delicious petit fours & cookies.
I made Brownie Truffles.

ONESIES...
Then we moved into the kitchen for the Onesie Making Party. I was blown away at how wonderful everyone's onesies turned out. I printed off a few examples but for the most part everyone came up with their own designs.

CAKE...
After Onesies, we cut the delicious cake and opened gifts.
I had seen the pink layered cake on Pinterest and fell in love so I had to make it for the shower.
I used a vanilla cake for the 3 bottom layers and just used varying amounts of red food coloring. The top layer I made strawberry! YUM!

BABY WISHES
While everyone ate their cake we filled out a Baby Wishes card for baby Liv.

Baby Wishes PRINTABLES are available on my ETSY Shop...

APPLIQUE TEMPLATES...
I have provided all of the templates you will need for your own shower.
