a dream

I would like to thank Pandora Radio for this song which has revived my dream of picking up and moving to Europe.

Before I was offered my current job with Moda, I was planning on moving to Italy. I had already accepted a job as a nanny for a lovely family in the small mountain town of Ortisei.
The plans were set and all that I had left to do was purchase my plane ticket.

Then came the call from Moda. The job I had been desperately wanting was available!
So I had to decide, Moda or Italy? Moda or ITALY?!
Since you already know my decision, can someone please tell me where my brain was on that day?
I absolutely love my job with Moda but really...Italy? I am not sure what I was thinking at the time but I will always wonder, what if I had gone. What would my life be like right now. Today. What would I be doing today?

I imagine that I am drinking a cappuccino and reading a book at my favorite café. By this time I speak fluent Italian and make small talk with all the little old men who play cards at the table next to mine. Then, several hours later, I pick up the children from school and we take a walk along the flower lined streets until we make our way to... the gelateria! Two scoops of Meloné per favore. My favorite flavor. As the sun is quickly departing for the evening, we retreat to our warm home filled with the smell of jasmine and fresh linens.

So, thank you Pandora. Thank you for the "what if." I suppose I will continue to drink coffee at my desk while making small talk with my American co-workers. And instead of the gelato, I will choose the gym.

Ahh to dream...

The Javanise
I admit I went through hell, didn’t you my love ?
Before I caught wind of you (met you) my love.
Whether it pleases you or not
In dancing the Javanaise
We loved each other for the length of a song

In your opinion what have we seen of love?
From you to me you really had me going (you had me fooled) my love
Whether it pleases you or not
In dancing the Javanaise
We loved each other for the length of a song

Alas, April in vain dedicates me to love
I wanted to see that love in you my love
Whether it pleases you or not
In dancing the Javanaise
We loved each other for the length of a song

Life is not worth living without love
But you’re are the one who wanted it that way my love
Whether it pleases you or not
In dancing the Javanaise
We loved each other for the length of a song

  1. Sarah Beth! So nice to get to know you.....We met breifly at the last sales meeting. You are definitely among the finest at Moda! Every week I struggle with not enough sew time! I just steal little moments when I can. Your Madeline Peyroux posting was perfect timing for my Pandora stations as I am getting inspired for my trip to French General's Chateau getaway this summer!
